What should I make sure to do with a couple of free days when I am in Honolulu for work?
A coworker and I will spend 11 days in Honolulu with a couple of days off. What would you suggest we do with our free time? we both enjoy the outdoors and doing something that is really different or special.

Answer 1 :
Go snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. It's usually crowded with tourists, but it's still a great beach with tons of tropical fish! You won't get disappointed:)
Answer 2 :
Go hiking at Diamond Head, jet ski on North shore, shark watching north shore, parasailing, surfing, there is so much to do on Oahu that you and your friend will have fun
Answer 3 :
Day 1- – Grab some sandwiches, fruits and drinks at any ABC Store. Buy a map of Honolulu NOT Hawaii. – Head out to Diamond Head and drive and hike to the top. On a clear day, breathtaking panoramic view at the top! -Head out to Highway 1 and go to Byodo Temple: enjoy the tranquil gardens, feed the koi, make an offering to Buddah, pray to Buddah for a possible romantic encounter later in the evening… -Leave for Haunauma Bay, go snorkeling, say hello to fish, work on tan, take pictures. -Leave Haunauma Bay, getting crowded with tourists, tan’s looking good anyway and stomach is getting hungry -Lunch at O’no Hawaiian Foods on 726 Kapahulu Avenue. Local hole-in-the-wall but good eats. Local favorite (pigeon English spoken hea). Waitresses are over 60 but tell them they don’t look a day over 40, or else they’ll step on your toes. The cook is even older. Walls are covered with autographed pictures of every celebrity who’se eaten here. From Hollywood stars, entertainers, sports legends and even a former president of U.S. -Check out the International Marketplace but do not eat at their food court - there's no telling how long the food has been sitting in the trays! If you happen to see something you like, barter the price down, or else you just got ripped off (betcha you knew that already). If the International Marketplace isn’t your venue, go across the street to the more elaborate and plush Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. (As an alternative: The Ilikai Hotel, further up on the corner of Ala Moana and Hobron offers a free almost-2 hour live music & hula show by their pool every Fri and Sat evening.) -Walk along Waikiki Beach, park your okole on a table at Duke’s and just order a cocktail and salad. That way you can tell all your friends that you ate at Duke’s on Waikiki Beach. (don’t order dinner – too expensive for too little). Day 2 - -Pearl Harbor USS Arizona, it’s free but it's first come first serve so get there early. See where WWII started. Afterward see where WWII ended on USS Missouri (not free). -Head north to Dole Pineapple plantation. Nice place to visit but don’t hang out here too long. If you do, everything starts looking like a pineapple... including your friends! -Continue north to Haleiwa – good old fashion surfing town and nice local shops. Look for someplace to eat. - by 1:00 PM: Head towards Polynesian Cultural Center and check out the beaches on your left as you drive... no...better yet, just keep your eyes on the road! (If today is Sunday, you’re out of luck... the Center is closed!) Stay for their dinner and evening luau/show. NOTE: Polynesian Cultural Center is pricey but worth the price; very culturally authentic and culturally correct (no neon colored nylon grass skirts here). Better to reserve tickets a day or two before. Me ka `oia`i`o, Kalani
Answer 4 :
Rent a car, get a map from the car rental place, get a spiro cooler and pack a lunch and some soft drinks, and drive to the Arizona Memorial. Its free but tours book up early and it may take you 3 or 4 hours to get through, parking is free also. Then drive up Highway 99 toward the other side of the island. Stop at the Dole Pineapple plantation for a tour. Continue on to the other side of the island, pick up route 83 toward Waimea, and stop at one of the deserted beaches for lunch. Continue on 83 and you will come to the Polynesian cultural center. It has day and evening shows so if you get there by about 3:00PM you are not too late for the dinner show. Continue on 83 until yoiu get to route 63 or 61 which will bring you back to Honolulu.
