Honolulu - job after high school?
Hi, I know it sounds crazy, but I would like to find a job in Honolulu after I finish my high school (as a gap year - after that I would go to a uni...). I am from Slovakia - EU, and of course I will need some visa - but I would receive my working visa just if I had an employer already before leaving to Honolulu(I don't know if i can work with some other visas, even if illegally :) ) And as I was planning to go to Honolulu and finding a job right on the place( I heard it isn't hard to find a job like a waiter or some other easy jobs...), there's a problem because it's almost impossible to find a job by the internet without having any diploma or anything... So if there is anyone that has some experience with receiving a visa or working in Honolulu in maybe similar conditions to mine, than please give me some advice :) thanks :)

Well you have heard wrong. Unemployment is high right now, you might have to work at least two jobs. Being a waiter is not easy. We just had three Target Stores open here. Each store only needed about 300 employees, Thousands of people showed up. I have a good friend who is a waitress at the Hard Rock Cafe here hour have gone down severely and when she does work it can be slow (lack of customers). My question to you would be is: Why do you want to live in Hawaii? I find that many believe it to be a 24/7 vacation.

Without a visa you can not work in the U.S. Without at least a masters degree (preferably a PhD) in a highly specialized field no U.S. company is going to sponsor you for a work visa. The state of Hawaii is laying off workers. It is tough for Americans with their 4 year bachelor degrees so there isn't going to be much hope for you. My advice is that you travel around a bit for fun and then attend uni. The sooner, the better.
